She Got Me!
Mia and Gus were eating a yogurt snack at the table before bedtime tonight. Mia grabbed for a toy in the middle of the table, and when she couldn’t reach it she screeched at me, “Give it to me!”
“Mia!” I said in my stern Mommy-voice. “How do you say that nicely?”
She considered it a brief moment, then sang sweetly, “Nicely!”
“No,” (I couldn’t help but chuckle) “you say ‘please.'”
“Puhleeze!”
A little while later I was tucking them into bed. Mia was being a little jack-in-the-box, popping back up as soon as my back was turned. After the third time I pulled my Mommy-voice back out and said, “Mia – LIE DOWN!”
With a twinkle in her eye and a sly grin she replied, “Puhleeze?” Then she broke out into giggles.
She got me!
Too funny! They like to throw stuff like that back at us, don’t they!
